The collective war grave of the inhabitants of Orzesze [Orzesche] and the surrounding area is located in the forest known as Pasterniok, between the districts of Jaśkowice [Jaschkowitz], Centrum, and Zawada. It is a memorial to the victims of World War II. On September 3, 1939, the Germans executed 23 local residents here, including Silesian insurgents and plebiscite activists. The murdered rest in a mass grave, which has been commemorated with a monument, symbolizing the suffering of the civilian population during the war. This place serves as a reminder of the tragic events of the first days of World War II in the region and is protected as an element of cultural and historical heritage. The school in Orzesze is named after the Fallen on Pasterniok, emphasizing the local significance of this site. The grave is easily accessible, although located in a forest area. Visitors should treat the site with due respect, remembering the victims of the war.
