In Stanowice [Stanowitz], in the Rybnik district, grows one of the most recognizable trees in historical Upper Silesia. The small-leaved linden has an impressive circumference of 490 cm and rises to 18 meters. It is located by Zwycięstwa Street, a busy road leading from Orzesze [Orzesche] to Rybnik. In the mid-19th century, a brick chapel of St. John of Nepomuk was erected in its vicinity. Over time, the tree trunk fused with the structure at one point. Nearby, between 1947 and 1949, the Church of St. Hyacinth was built. In 1958, the linden was officially recognized as a natural monument and has been under special protection since then. Until the 1990s, the linden's trunk served an interesting role – it acted as a kind of notice board, where information such as mass times in the nearby church was posted. In 1995, the tree underwent maintenance treatments; the mass of its crown was reduced, and its height was lowered from 27 to 18 meters. A rowan tree growing in its bough was also removed, but it grew back and today forms a small tree on the historic linden. It is also worth noting the nearby pedunculate oak in the Podlesie hamlet on Leśna Street. It has a circumference of 375 cm, a height of 18 meters, and has also been protected as a natural monument since 1998.
