In the heart of Jastrzębie Zdrój, at the site of the Moszczenica mine closed in the years 2000-2001, there is an interactive museum -- Carbonarium. The mine baths, which had stood unused for over 20 years, after revitalization became a museum of the history of coal and a Center for Dialogue and Business. In the museum, you can see a multimedia exhibition whose main theme is coal, from its formation in the depths of the stars, through its presence in living organisms and nature, to its use in the most advanced technologies. The exhibition shows in an illustrative way the contemporary extraction model and associated threats. You can see how the discovery of coal deposits contributed to the creation of the city and influenced its development and shape. Thanks to virtual reality, visitors can descend underground to take a closer look at miners' work. Carbonarium is an exhibition created with all generations in mind. Regardless of age, everyone will find something interesting and inspiring. The facility is equipped with a number of amenities for disabled people, combining multifunctional, post-industrial space with tourism, culture, history, and entertainment.
