A picturesque forest-recreational complex holding the status of an ecological utility area, covering approximately 39 hectares, located in the Bańgów district. This area is under ecological protection and is the only major forest in the city, serving as an ideal place for relaxation and contact with nature. The Bażantarnia (Pheasantry) features numerous walking and cycling paths, Rzęsa Pond, a golf course, a playground for children, and an educational trail that allows visitors to learn about the local fauna and flora. One can encounter wild boars, roe deer, foxes, and many bird species here. The stand is dominated by pedunculate oaks – often ancient – as well as small-leaved lindens, Norway maples, and hornbeams. Bażantarnia encourages outdoor activities: walking, running, cycling, or rollerblading. The area also has an interesting history – in the 19th century, the Napoleonic army moved through these parts. It is also worth visiting the nearby cemetery of German soldiers. Bażantarnia is a popular place for recreation, nature education, and relaxation, combining a natural landscape with urban access.
