St. Anthony's Chapel in Piekary Śląskie [Deutsch Piekar] is located in the Dąbrówka Wielka [Gross Dombrowka] district, in the Dołki estate. It was erected between 1929 and 1930 as a votive offering of gratitude by the residents for the incorporation of Silesia into Poland after World War I. The construction was supervised by Canon Józef Krupa. The chapel was consecrated on June 14, 1930. The brick structure, with visible neo-Gothic elements, is a valuable example of interwar sacral architecture. During the occupation, the Polish emblem placed on the pediment was destroyed. After the war, the chapel was renovated. The interior is adorned with a main altar containing the relics of St. Placidus and a reliquary of St. Anthony. Inside, there are also figures of Saints Stanislaus and Casimir, funded by the residents. Since 1963, the chapel has been served by a rector, and since 1976 it has belonged to the parish of Our Lady Help of Christians in Dąbrówka Wielka. In 2015, the chapel was entered into the registry of monuments. This intimate place is a testimony to the faith and patriotism of the local community.
