In Bełk [Belk], next to the historic wooden Church of St. Mary Magdalene, grows a magnificent pedunculate oak with a circumference of about 490 cm, a diameter at breast height of about 150 cm, and a height of about 20 m. The tree is located within the cemetery surrounding the 18th-century wooden temple, being the thickest and oldest among the neighboring trees, which further emphasizes the landscape and historical values of this place. It was likely planted after the church was erected. In 1998, the oak was recognized as a natural monument and belongs to the most beautiful monumental trees of the Rybnik land. Nearby grow other magnificent trees with circumferences of about 300 cm, creating a unique churchyard landscape. The Church Oak in Bełk is not only an impressive tree in terms of size but also an important witness to local history, attracting the attention of nature lovers, photographers, and tourists visiting the historic church and its surroundings.
